MVFF awarded National Firewise USA Certification
The Firewise program recognizes the critical importance of each homeowner’s responsibility to create and maintain defensible space around their home allowing firefighters to defend it. In hundreds of sites around the US, homes within Firewise communities have survived wildfires because of the work they have done. Neighbors working together make our mountain safer for all!
Why FireWise?
Firewise USA® is a national program that recognizes the critical importance of each homeowner’s responsibility to create and maintain defensible space around their home which enables firefighters to defend it. Because it is a nationally recognized program many insurance companies offer discounts for participation.
Based on work undertaken by the MVFF and our FSC, we received our renewal certification on December 2, 2025. Click here to get a copy of the Firewise Certificate.
